Preikestolen Design
The Designer’s Inspiration behind the Pulpit Rock Collection
For me, Preikestolen has always been something truly special — a magnificent and fascinating phenomenon of nature, but also a place for quiet reflection. In recent years, the international attention surrounding Preikestolen has turned it into one of the most powerful symbols of Norway’s majestic wilderness.
To visitors from all over the world, Preikestolen is a spectacular destination. Yet for many who live here in Norway, the mountain had almost come to be taken for granted, often associated in recent years with mass tourism.
My wish was to shift that perspective — to elevate Preikestolen into something exclusive that we who live in Norway can wear with genuine pride. I wanted to create fine jewellery that Norwegians and design lovers alike would choose to wear for both everyday elegance and special occasions, without it ever feeling like a souvenir. This became the starting point for the collection’s expression.

The Unique Character of the Collection
Subtle Elegance & Architectural Minimalism
As a designer, my challenge was clear: How do you capture such an iconic landmark without turning it into a cheap souvenir?
The answer lay in giving the collection a classic, refined expression in pure Nordic style. It was crucial that the connection to Preikestolen should not be overt, but rather present as a sophisticated, implied detail. The common thread throughout the collection is the subtle, sharp angle — drawn directly from the silhouette of Preikestolen when viewed from the side.
In this collection, I combine matte and polished surfaces. This adds visual depth to the jewellery while seamlessly merging the raw texture of the mountain’s stone with the exquisite light reflections of polished precious metals.

Who It's For
A Wearable Symbol of Pride & Identity
For me, it was essential that this collection spoke to people of all ages across Norway and Scandinavia. Preikestolen symbolizes a shared Nordic soul and the grand nature that surrounds us.
The visual connection to the cliff is meant to be a subtle secret known to those who know the story. The design stands confidently on its own — a timeless symbol of Scandinavian identity to wear close to your heart, created for those who truly appreciate Norwegian craftsmanship and refined jewellery design.
