The celebration of Mother’s Day goes far back to ancient times, when Goddess “Rhea” of fertility, motherhood and protection was celebrated. The Norwegian celebration of Mother’s Day is an old tradition and have now been celebrated for over 100 years. 

The tradition on Mother’s Day is to show a mum how much she means to you by giving attention and gifts. It doesn’t necessarily have to be your own mum that get’s pampered on this day; A grandmother, sister or friend who’s a mother will also appreciate your kindness.
